My Nakhli Experience

Recommended Posts

so, after reading exceptional things about nakhli orange and sweet melon, i stopped by a local market and picked up some 50 gram samples.

i tried the sweet melon and after smoking half a head, my cousins and i were thoroughly disappointed. i hoped the orange wouldn't be as disappointing and boy, was i let down!

last night, i needed a little something to keep me awake for an all nighter writing a paper (epic fail, i completely passed out). i tried the nakhli orange on a 24" lebanese that i had and figured maybe the pipe was old or i just botched the setup. so i brought out the precision hopefully to pick up the slack. nothing really changed. i was bummed, the orange had a really distinct flavor and tasted awesome, but the clouds were weak and it was harsh (for both setups). so, not giving up on the awesome taste of this orange, i decided to give everything another go; i added some glycerine to give the clouds a little more umph and hopefully get rid of the harshness. my efforts were not in vain! i'm smoking it now, and must say, i'll soon be snagging a 250g of this delicious orange, throwing in some glycerine, and continue smoking with this extraordinarily tacky foil diffuser that works like a charm.

i'm not sure if it was the glycerine, the overnight acclimation time or what, but this stuff is b.e.a. utiful.

so here comes my petitioning yous guys for a little imput: have you had any experience with glycerine improving the smokability of an otherwise harsh tobacco?

also, the buzz is ridic.
nakhli is the shit, at least the orange is.

grazie.

I totally agree. I'm a recent Nakhla convert as well.

I havent had issues with harshness but I think I'm going to pick up some glycerine to see if I can increase the smoke volume a bit, since it's not quite up there with AF/SB.

Orange is actually the next flavor I'm going to buy so I'm glad you give it a shining review.

Last night I had some Nakhla Orange mixed 70/30 with AF Vanilla....great freakin' clouds of Lifesavers Cremesavers candies. Good, good stuff.

The only real bad part about Nakhla is their increadably shitty packaging. Nakhla is a naturally drier brand, but their packaging makes it even worse sometimes. I sometimes add a little glycerine to Nakhla that looks/feels a little drier than normal, but don't always add it as a matter of course.

Enough smoke is not enough smile.gif

I demand thunderclouds!!!!!

I've got AF Vanilla so guess what mix I'll be living off of as soon as I get the orange? Thanks for the suggestion Pig.

Sure thing. You will like it, methinks. The AF really adds to the smoke volume as well.

Nakhla has a few flavors that can be purchased in glass jars for about 10$ i believe. Can't remember where they sell them...

Personally I think Nakhla is the most underrated shisha-brand on the market. Strong flavors, a strong buzz (although I'm feeling a stronger buzz when smoking tangiers, even though the nicotine percentage of Nakhla is supposed to be higher) and a really easy and forgiving heat management. Personal favorites are Double Apple, Strawberry and Orange. Got some Mandarin with my latest package, looking forward to smoking it.

Big recommendation for the Mizo Grape from nakhla. It's a juicier even more flavorful version of nakhla with the same buzz. Some people say they taste ketchup but i taste perfect grap, a little sweet, but exactly how i would want a grape shisha to taste.

Nakhla is awesome I love the stuff!!!!

Load it up in a small phunnel throw on 3 cocos and a windcover a smoke till my head explodes ....ahhhhh yeah!

I am one of the ones i like the purer taste of Orange over Mandarin. But that's just my taste!

I've only had three flavors so far, but I have not had a single problem. It is packed full of flavor, gives a hell of a buzz, and though the clouds aren't as big as other brands, they are thick enough for me. I will definitely be keeping Nakhla around.

Nakhla is by far my favorite shisha. It's easier to list the few flavors I don't like of theirs. Only coconut, tropicana, and their standard grape (not mizo, I've heard great things there but have yet to try it). Even those can be mixed and will smoke just fine.
